This traditional course has a very challenging layout. The fairways are defined by a multiple cut of rough, and the hilly terrain will cause many uneven lies. The undulating greens are small, very fast, and difficult to read. Water hazards come into play on five holes, and the course is well bunkered. The signature hole is #18, a 529-yard, par 5, requiring uphill shots to a small green protected by five sand bunkers. The course was most recently redesigned by Robert Trent Jones in 1982. "Golf Digest" rated this as the 9th "Best in State" course for 1995-96.

| This Donald Ross classic underwent a major renovation in 2004 that resulted in a Golf Digest rating as the number 1 renovation in the country for 2005. Many informed golfers feel that BCC now merits close consideration by the USGA for hosting one of its second or third tier championships. Brookside has without a doubt some of the most sloping and challenging Donald Ross greens in the country. By early Fall you are hard pressed to keep appoach shots and putts on the green. |
