This course is located in a natural setting on a former ranch. Relics of its past are located throughout the property, including 100-year-old farm machinery resting in random places on the course. It lies at the base of the 13,000-foot Mt. Sopris, which presents a stunning backdrop. The course begins with a tricky 408-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot that must carry approximately 180 yards over the Crystal River. The back nine begins with a 434-yard, par 4, which calls for a difficult tee shot that must travel over the Crystal River and slightly uphill. Anything low or left will find the large cottonwoods or the river. The approach is to a green protected by bunkers in the front and left sides, and the river on the right. Three other holes also play over the Crystal River.

Golfable Golf Quote of the Day:
" The fundamental problem with golf is that every so often, no matter how lacking you may be in the essential virtues required of a steady player, the odds are that one day you will hit the ball straight, hard, and out of sight. This is the essential frustration of this excruciating sport. For when you've done it once, you make the fundamental error of asking yourself why you can't do this all the time. The answer to this question is simple: the first time was a fluke. -Colin Bowles "
