This course's greens are fast and loaded with a lot of undulations. This challenging course plays more difficult than the yardage indicates.

| This course has a variety of holes and all 18 are different. A few holes are a bit tight but basically you can spray the ball left or right and still have a shot at the green. Condition of the course is average, but greens are very good. It is not overly difficult which makes it fun to play. |

| Carleton Glen is a bit of an anomaly for SE MI golf; this is not your typical back and forth, always straight from tee to green style daily fee golf course. It instead offers long par fours, doglegs (both right and left), par fives with definite risk-reward second shots, and par threes that make you think twice about club selection. Tree-lined fairways, water, sand and long rough await the golfer. Also, the back tees really do reshape the course and how you approach it. I was hesitant to give this course any publicity as it is always easy for me to get on (they usually don't take a tee time during the week). Never crowded, I liked the fact I can pull up, pay for golf, and proceed to the tee without delay. I am in SE Mi quite a bit, and I prefer playing "the Glen" because of this and all the other reasons previously stated. But Carleton Glen has always done me well, and as such I feel the need to return the favor by telling everyone it is a course anyone who loves and respects the game will enjoy. |
