This course was built on top of a mountain, so expect uneven lies. You may walk this course, but the club personnel recommend that you should ride. The wide fairways are open, and the large greens are undulating and easy to three putt. No water hazards come into play, though sand bunkers have been incorporated into the course design. The only holes without sand bunkers are #6 and #7. The ladies tee off from the same set of tees as the men.

Tough course -- great views -- nice staff, Jul 19, 2010

Very challenging 9 hole course but with 18 tees gives it another look the second time around. Greens are sloped and difficult and very easy to three or four putt depending on the pin placements. Views on holes 4 and 6 are spectacular. Very well kept. Staff is cheerful and knowledgeable.

"Paradise Review"
An above average course with smaller greens. Some elavation changes but nothing major. Greens are true but not very fast. A chipper and pitchers dream. A few shortish par 4's that will tease the big dogs but look out for the hidden teeth. A challenge for sure but fun.

I happen to live on this course so I just have to drive down the street to get there. The eighteen holes are great for beginners. they are easy and can suport all ages. This is a great course for anyone.

Throckmorton Country Club
"The Best Little Course in West Texas!"
This 9 hole course is the hardest little course I have ever played! If you think the Links is hard wait until you play this bad boy! The hardest hole would probably be #7. This par 5 may look easy when you step up on these elevated tee boxes but just wait until you tee off. Thats when the adventure begins. The second hardest would the #5. This par 4 dogleg right is probably the hardest par 4 on the course. Of course there are a few easy holes thrown in just so you don't lose your confidence. So if you are ever traveling through Throckmorton; be sure and stop to play "The Best Little Course in West Texas!"

Fort Cherry Golf Club
"Better than Quicksilver...and cheaper too!!!"
When golf is mentioned around the area of McDonald/Midway/Pittsburgh and it's surrounding areas, most people think of Quicksilver. I urge everyone to play Fort Cherry Golf Club. The staff there treats you like real true people, and are there to serve you. Their gentle courtesey helped me to feel comfortable, even before i stepped forth on the golf course. The course itself is always in beautiful shape. IPrices are right; play is magnificant. I recommend Fort Cherry to all vistors and friends that I know are comming to the area.
