Great value, Jun 10, 2004

I haven't played a lot of golf but visited Royal Oaks with a church golf outing. Beautiful fairways for the price and a very challenging course for any golfer without loosing a ton of balls for the less experienced golfer like myself. Looking forward to going back with a foursome.

Hybrid Bermuda 419 grass is like having your ball on a tee! Bent grass greens are some of the best for a course located in a southern state.

"Pretty Good Par 3"
This is a good course to tune up your short irons. It's pretty well maintained (the tees are mats however). Most holes are about 130 yards or so with a pond coming into play on a couple holes. There are no sand traps, but there is a stream that runs through the course as well as many trees. It's a good course to play after work, with your family, or when you don't want to play a full golf course.

This tight, tree-lined venue has numerous doglegs, precise bunkering and water on 14 holes. Those challenges, combined with relatively short length make it a serious test for all levels of players. Four sets of tees accommodate virtually all golfers. The club does not discriminate against women in membership or availability of tee times. Exceptional food and service are other attributes which make this club a tremendous value.

"Beautiful and challenging old-style course"
This a beautiful, scenic golf course which will challenge every golfer, regardless of handicap. The maturity of this course, which includes huge oak trees and large shade trees, gives the impression of walking in a park, with the added enjoyment of playing golf. Even though the length of the course is short by modern standards, that is where the challenge lies. Drives must be accurate, and pitch shots precise. The greens are deceptive and fast, and are well-bunkered. The clubhouse is very well-planned, with great views of the course from the men's lounge and dining room areas. The men's locker room has been remodeled, and I guarantee that Luis, the locker room chief, will never forget your name. He is a wonder. One golfing visit to this club will make you wish you could live in the area so that you could apply for membership -- it is a memorable golfing experience.
