This course's fairways are lined with pine trees. They are generally flat. Creeks and ponds will come into play on fourteen holes. All the greens are protected by sand bunkers. The signature hole is #3, a 198-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot to a green surrounded by water. There is a separate green fee rate for Fridays. Certain restrictions apply with the nine hole rate.

fun layout but the greens need work. need to work the ball both ways off the tee. a little overprice because of the greens. have to say service was great.

Wet, boggy course. Poor drainage, generally lots of mud spraying everywhere. Good course during drought conditions. Shots can be challenging as many are blind. Second star is for the practice facility, however, which is about the best in Wake County.

"Tough fair course"
This course has fast greens and is kept in good shape. The fairways arent long but are tight in places. Nice layout with plenty of water and traps.

Marshall Canyon Golf Club
"Trickier than you think and don't EVER walk."
Marshall Canyon is a fun course with some quirky holes but for the most part it is pretty fair. The greens are trickier than you think and there are some hole placements that totally suck if you get above the hole. It is a hilly course that you don't want to walk unless you are in very good walking shape. All in all, it is a good course with a decent price.

Sandpiper Golf & Country Club
"Nice change of pace"
This course is a nice change of pace. I have played it every year for the last 5 years for a total of about 15 rounds. The water was way down for a few years and when it was the course was not very nice to look at. Greens are small and challenging. The course is fun to play and reasonably tough. Having a sand trap in the middle of a green is flat out stupid. That hole (# 15) is definately my least favorite hole. The par five # 14 along the road seems to always be in bad shape. Outside of holes #4 , #14 and #15 I like the course .
