This course, which is perched 4,500 feet above sea level, is very mountainous and has an abundance of elevation changes. The fairways are lined with spectacular poplars, dogwoods and pines, and vary in width from hole to hole. The greens are very undulating and can be fast during the months. This course does not have a signature hole, however, a consensus favorite is #8, a 287-yard, par 4, which is situated on the side of a mountain and slopes from right to left. Once the green is reached, there is a breathtaking view overlooking the community.

A day at Trillium, Dec 15, 2004

Went out and played the course with the pro. A little tough for a high handicapper, but what a wonderful layout by Morris Hatalsky. # 8 has a spectacular view and the holes across the road were very enjoyable. They also have a 9 hole pitch and putt course that is set in the hills under a canopy of trees and rhododendrum(mountain laurels)with a pond and creek for a fun family walk. Trillium is a great community for friendliness and beautiful vistas with all the amenities you might need.

This course is spectacular...very beautiful. It is difficult, but the average player will enjoy it. The people there are the nicest.

"Upscale heading Downscale"
This course has so much potential. As it stands it is still one of the best courses in Houston for one thing and one thing only: Greens. It is just unfortunate that it has changed management hands several times in the last few years. In the process, each regime has focused on different things. Mostly cutting back on what the previous management did. No overseeding fairways in winter, Sand bunkers that qualify as gumbo bunkers, No restrooms on course, carts that badly need replacement. To compete with area course price points, they have dropped their average rates. What this means is more course play with less revenue. Couple this with the fact that there is less maintenance staff and no one fills in divots. Looks like a bombing campaign afterphoto on some fairways. The claim to fame is "Best greens in Houston". While this may still be true, the overall package is declining. I am concerned that even the greens may suffer as a consequence of the extra play and reduced maintenance. They used to put balls out on the range, but no more. They have some funky bag system where you lug these large red bags to the range with you. It could be so much better. Aesthetics are an afterthought. Actually, no one is thinking of aesthetics at all. I think they just keep thinking they can coast on the fumes of the reputation of their greens. Their slogan when the club opened 6 years ago was "Country Club for a day". An updated version would be more like "Mcgolf with your redneck buddies for a day".

Miracle Hill Golf Course
"Nice course, nice people"
This is a nice course, tree lined but no water. Pace of play is good, 4 hours is usual. Great driving range, two putting greens. The staff is friendly and accomodating.

"old to new"
the old westwood country club is no more. as wonderful as the old course established in 1927) was the new course and grounds ( now westwood golf club) are superb. modern grasses and irrigation... cleaned and all made up for a great round of golf.
