This club offers two courses: the Long Course is an eighteen hole championship layout and the Short Course is an eighteen hole par 3 design. Both courses boast beautiful, unobstructed views of the San Jacinto Mountains. During construction, massive amounts of earth were moved in order to create the gentle contours and mounding that distinguish this course from the otherwise flat terrain. Crushed white-marble sand bunkers also add a brilliant accent. The Long Course is highlighted by extremely large, well-undulating putting surfaces, which average more than 10,000 square feet each. Several greens are elevated and two are double greens. The Short Course was designed to be fun, yet challenging and includes two par 4's. With its smaller greens, accuracy is demanded off the tee, while the subtle sloping can make for tricky reads. Sod-wall bunkers create an additional challenge. Carts are mandatory on The Long Course.

Marshallia Ranch Golf Course
"Marshallia Rocks"
This is one tough but, neat course. Carved out of the hills surrounding Vandenberg AFB, the layout is challenging and scenic. Play in the fall and winter for the best weather, because spring and summer can be very cool and windy. Each hole rewards a decent shot, but plucks out your heart if your shot runs errant. Ice plant gives a new meaning to the word, rough. Here's a putting tip, 90% of the putts break toward the high hills to the south, though you will swear it can't be. The course is usually in terrific condition and the Clubhouse very accomodating. Green fees, equipment and food are more than reasonable when compared to nearby courses. This is one gem all golfers must experience.

Glen Oak Country Club
"Bring your control game"
Accuracy off the tee is more important than length as the fairways are lined with colorful trees. The small greens are surrounded by well-placed bunkers and then the real fun begins. The greens are fast, unless you have a downhill putt and then they are super-fast. Since the greens are so true, there are plenty of opportunities for one-putts, but also three-putts due to speed and breaks. Relaxed social atmosphere of club makes for a fun day. Pros, lead by Danny Mulhearn, are terrific golfers and teachers.

Played course many times. Most enjoyable. Some forgiving holes and some challenging. All in all, a very playable course. Not too punitive. Want a challenge?, play the back tees.
