| Hit a big drive and great second shot to score well. This course can play long and be more a challenge than most in the metro area. Grand Marais is likely the most improved couse in southern Illinois over the past decade, having elevated tees, better couse regulations and care, a nice clubhouse facility, and caring staff. It is not Bellerive, but it is always an superb golf outing. I first played this course in 1960 and it is better shape now than ever. |

| This is a very flat mature course owned by the state. It is a very easy course to walk. It features small greens. The course gets a lot of play and suffers somewhat from it especially on the tees. |
