This course was designed to have a friendly appearance, but don't be fooled, it can be very challenging for any golfer. Most holes have tight fairways and plenty of sand bunkers guarding the greens. Six holes have water hazards in play. Although there is no specific signature hole, the favorite is #18, a 396-yard, par 4, which slopes down to the right with water creeping all the way up the fairway to a green that is guarded by a right-front sand bunker.

Great course to play, Apr 15, 2004

I have played golf in the Nothern Virginia area for years now. I found Pleasant Valley to be one of the most challenging and well maintained courses in the area. The staff is friendly and the food is great. I recommend this course to anyone in the area. You will be impressed!

Beautiful layout with a lot of elevation changes and fast, undulating greens. The course also winds through a lot of trees, mostly pines and oaks. First six holes are a real challenge. If you can survive these opening holes with a score that's just a few strokes over par, you may be able to recover by the end. The 15th hole is a monster from back tees, measuring almost 650 yards. Overall, bring every club in your bag.
