The real problems on this course don't start until you reach the #7, #8 and #9 holes. The back nine on this course provides great views of the Wicomico River. Additionally, wildlife can be seen roaming the course as you enjoy your game. George Cobb redesigned the existing nine holes in 1967, and Robert Elder added nine new ones in the early 1980's. The yardage is an estimate provided by the course personnel.

| Wicomico shores is a fine golf course with a friendly staff and a newly constructed club house.
The greens are well manicured and allow the average golfer with moderate spin to stop the ball. They are also fairly interesting in shape and contour.
The overall layout is mostly flat, but some holes do offer elevation changes to make things interesting. The par 5's offer some room to let it rip and if you're long enough eagles are possible for the low-mid handicapper.
Several of the par 4's are shorter and tighter. They make you think about your tee-shot and you usually have to lay up with something less than driver.
The Par 3's are moderate in length and the greens well guarded by either water and/or bunkers.
This is one of my favorite local courses, and I always look forward to playing here. |
