This championship course was built on rolling terrain and features well-bunkered fairways and greens. Water hazards come into play on five holes. Guests must be accompanied by a member in order to play this course. "Golf Digest" rated this as the 7th "Best in State" course for 1995-97, and 8th best for 1997-98. The 5,747-yard men's tee also has ladies' course rating of 73.5 and slope of 131.

| Charlotte is a very exclusive, private country club, open only to members and their guests. Originally a Donald Ross layout, the course has gone through a number of redesigns. Hosted the U.S.G.A. Senior Men's Amateur several years ago (which should tell you something about the quality of the course). As you would expect, a beautifully maintained course in a parkland setting with magnificant huge old trees (although not far from downtown Charlotte). Greens are fast and well bunkered, requiring precise iron play to score well. Number 10, a sharp dogleg left par 4 with a difficult green, and Number 11, a par three, all carry over a pond, provide a rude welcome to the back 9. |
