This course was built on small rolling hills. The fairways vary from narrow to wide open, and the large greens are undulating. Water hazards (streams and ponds) come into play several times. The signature hole is #12, a 590-yard, par 5, which plays downhill from off the tee box, then uphill, requiring two shots over water to an elevated green.

This is a well up kept course that it very private with no distractions except for one small road by a back green. This course is great and only secong to Pleasant Valley in this area. Not many people know about this coursse so it only gets crowed by the usual people on the weekends. During the week it is very enjoyable to golf here.

Ridge may not be a very long course, its only 6200 from the tips but its tricky. All of the holes are very narrow making accuracy important. Also, most of the greens are tiny and very difficult to hold because they are the fastest greens on the south side of Chicago. The course superintendent, Gary Galecki, deserves a lot of credit because the course is not just in good shape, its immaculate. This course is a treat for any golfer regardless of skill level.

The course is very well maintained, I've never experienced a public course that was in such great shape. The course has beautiful scenery and is worth playing if you are a competitive golfer.

Mad Russian Golf & Country Club, The
"Great course for the money"
This course is always fun and challenging to play. The greens in the winter are somewhat bet up but the summer is an excellent time to play. There rates are very reasonable and we enjoy the course very much. The people are always nice and helpful there.
