This course recently renovated its fairways, so they are in great condition. The large greens are somewhat sloped and easy to read. The back nine fairways are narrower than the front nine. There are water hazards that come into play on four holes. The most difficult hole is #1, a 447-yard, par 4, requiring a long tee shot up a dogleg left fairway, then a long approach shot to the green. There is a separate green fee for those preferring to walk. Junior discount rates are only available on the weekdays.

Solid City Course, Apr 14, 2004
reviewer: John McGirk from Chattanooga, TN
Brainerd Golf Club is a classic city course design. The mature trees allow for some imaginative shots from off the fairway and save the golf ball budget. Greens are large and true with mostly straight in hole locations. The two holes heading back to the clubhouse have multi-level greens. This course is an easy walk and best enjoyed that way. Greens fees, staff and location make it easy to get to and enjoy a classic city round.
