This historic eighteen hole course has mature trees lining some of its fairways, and shot accuracy is most important when going for the small greens. One of the most demanding holes on this course is #11, a short par 4, requiring a tee shot up a dogleg left fairway, then an approach shot to a green protected by trees and water hazards. This course is owned by Chicago Parks District Golf Courses and is managed by Kemper Golf Management. All of the Park District courses use a central telephone system. | I played this course last year and I really enjoyed it. I played it again yesterday and it was in such terrible shape, I could cry. I was completely appalled at the condition.. I understand that we are experiencing a drought, but come on. I did see sprinkler heads placed in frequent intervals, clearly they are not being used. This course should be a crowning jewel for our city. It is an embarrasment. I have shared my sentiment with both the park district and Kemper - I know I am not the only one who feels this way. Hopefully there will be improvements. |
