This beautiful course was built through a wooded area. In addition this course features rolling terrain and tree-lined fairways, and the greens are fast and slightly sloped. Water hazards (two ponds) come into play on two holes. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 7th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996.

As the previous review stated, for the money, it is a great course. However, this course was built for two types of golfers- righties with a draw or lefties who play a fade...NO EXCEPTIONS!! As a lefty draw player, this course was extremely challenging because basically, all the holes dogleg to the left, making almost all shots difficult. So, as long as the course suits your playing ability, you will find it great.

I recently had the opportunity to play in a tournament at this course. In my opinion, it has a great deal for price. For the amount one pays to play the course in in great shape. I also believe that the course has a great mixture of not only wooded to link style holes, but also a motley design of easier to more difficult holes. However, the one key for golfers to remember is that LEFTIES CANNOT GOlF HERE!!!!!!! This course contains almost 75% Dogleg Right to Left holes. For my left-handed swing, I play a draw, and this course absolutely ruined my handicap. Therefore, althought the course is great and in good condition for all players of all ability, don't go if you are left handed!

Chicopee Country Club is a great course for the money. Nice people and good times. The only problem is the back to back par 3's. But its not there fault. Two thumbs up though!

"A fun course"
A local Lakeland course that lives up to it's advertisements! A little long from the middle tees for the average golfer but there is not a bad hole on the course. Lots of water and position golf is more important than the "grip it and rip it " mentality! I'd hope to get to play there again. It's worth the trip.

I have never putted on such undulating greens in my life, this course gave me fits.... I had never played here so I didnt know what I was in for, really tough course if your not familiar with it.... I crushed a drive on one hole, dont rememeber which one but I thought I hit at least a 300yd drive, well I did but it landed in a pond on the other side of a sloping fairway. Never knew the the water was there.... you cant see it from the tee box... (very sneaky). just one of the great holes on this gem....if you want some putting practice, then this your course.... go for it....

"Good course, has all the basics, soon to be a hidden jewel"
I played here twice so far. The fairways were in pretty good shape. They recently hired a new superintendent from Charlotte National (Dino) who produces some of the best greens in Charlotte. With a little time, he will have those greens rolling right. He has already started re-doing all the bunkers. Some walks from green to the next tee would be impossible to make. It has some beautiful holes. Most bunkers did not have enough sand in them, but they're being re-worked now with some getting all new drainage and sand and some being filled in as grass bunkers. This will make it a fairer course.
