This course has a links-style front nine built on flat terrain and a traditional back nine, with hilly dogleg fairways. The course has three ponds that are all encased by stone walls and a creek that comes into play on six holes. The signature hole is #16, a 188-yard, par 3, requiring a shot to an island green. The scenery on this course includes a variety of wildlife, wetlands and mature trees. The finishing hole, a 449-yard, par 4, has an amphitheater around and above the elevated, double-tiered green that provides a platform for people to watch the golfers finish their round of golf. The greens are mostly undulating, but some are slightly sloped. Every green has at least on large greenside sand bunker. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 7th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996, and 46th best under the category of "America's Top 75 Affordable Courses." They also rated it as the 7th "Best in State" course for 1997-98. The course doesn't open until noon on Monday.

This place is always in great shape and plays fast! Fast greens, fast fairways, someplace you have to concentrate on each shot. Lot's of fun to test your skills, but not unfair.

For those traditionalists the bearslide golf club offers a true links feel for a low price and excellent surroundings. Overall a pleasant experiance and a club thats well worth the short drive from Indpls. At just a little over 7000 yds from the championship tees, the course is just long enough to be challenging to the long ball hitter as well as short enough to provide a nice scorecard showing for your average duffer.

Member : I found this golf course very changing and beautiful. Even though the course is somewhat short, it is heavily guarded with trees and it has a fair amount of sand around the greens and 3 fairway bunkers, the 1st is on #3 and the other 2 on #17 . The greens are very will maintained with a good quick pace to them. It would be wise to keep it in the short grass because the ruff can get pretty hairy. The best thing about this course is that the average cost to play is $20 to $40 dollars with cart. The down side is that it is located in the sticks (Corry Pa.), about 50 to 60 minutes south east of Erie Pa. They recently started taking take t-times about 2 years ago, so you can call ahead and schedule your time (up to 3 days ahead). If you like a changing and scenic golf course you should take the short trip to North Hills and give the course a try. Happy golfing R.A.W.
