This Scottish links-style course is constructed on 200 acres and features an actual 19th hole - a picturesque par 3 over water. Each hole is named for a famous course - St. Andrews and Turnberry; Oakmont and Augusta. The course winds through wooded areas, traverses meadows, and plays around and over seven lakes. Although it measures almost 7,000 yards from the tips, the course has four sets of tees to ensure that it is a formidable, but fun, test of golf.

"Westwinds - A shot makers course"
Bring every club in your bag and put your thinking cap on before coming to this course. Best bet is to go out with a member or get a yardage book and stay on track for a 4 hour round. Best quote out on the golf course - "I'll either play over you, around you or through you, you take your pick."

"Good for its purpose"
Don't expect great things.. but if you just want to get in a quick 9 holes of knocking the ball around, this is cheap, convenient and fun. My girlfriend and I played on Sunday for $20 total.

Some of the holes are short but with the smaller greens and water meandering around the course it makes you think as to what club to scale back to as well as making sure you don't do too much slicing. Most of the holes you can hit right at the hole if you have a high 8,9 or PW. You have to be careful off the tee on some holes due to the water running across the fairway. The back nine has some undulating fairways. The largest green seems to be No. 18 and it slopes quite a bit downward from back to front. The fairway grass has gotten better over the years since it was known as SLOCUM golf course. The staff is friendly and accommodating.
