A good test of your game., Jul 06, 2008

My brother in law and I had the opportunity to play this course 2 days in a row while we were camping. We both play on the Michigan amateur tour and found this course to be a great challenge. We play some of the very best public courses in Michigan and it ranks right up there with them. The course conditions were super. The greens were very consistent. The staff was very helpful. My understanding is that it was once a private course and now open to the public. If you are traveling to the area, I recommend you try this course. Rates are consistent with this caliber of course. We paid $47 for 18 and were happy with everything but our scores. hehe

I have had the opportunity to play Coldwater Country Club numerous times when I vacation to southern Michigan. It is a true test of gold that requires accurate iron play as the greens are not difficult to reach, but the size and speed along with the many undulations make 3 and even 4 putting a possibliity. It should also be noted that new management has taken control of the course in 2005, and has made many improvements. It is certainly worth a visit if you are in the area.
