This club offers on eighteen hole course and one nine hole course. The Eighteen Hole Course is said to be the oldest course west of the Mississippi. It has many large trees, and the greens are large and vary from flat to rolling. Water comes into play on one hole. The course design reflects the many eras and changes this course has experienced. The driving range was added in 1996.

Excellent Public Course, Jul 29, 2004

As a city owned public course I don't believe they get much better then this one. A beautiful course (both 18 and 9 hole courses). Well maintained, friendly staff, nice old clubhouse (wish they would ban smoking)are all here. Great driving range.

Highland Springs Golf Course
"Great couse."
This course is a great example of Ozark Mountain terrain. Flawless greens, oceans of water, and large greenside and fairway bunkers make this golf course a 5 star course. The layout is a bit easier than your traditional 5 star PGA Tour Championship courses. The Nike/Buy.com/whatever its name is this year tour uses this course each year for one of its tournaments and the players always remark on quality maintenance.

"Fun, yet challenging for any level golfer..."
The course will grow on you. The first time I played it, the course kicked my hind-parts. Every hole has a different look and challenge. The fairways and greens are always in great shape, even though they don't overseed in the cold months. Because the course sits high, even though it was built on wetlands, there is always wind, and therefore a challenge. The course will beckon you back time and again. Very nice play and good staff.

"Great little secret in Central PA"
This is a very hilly course that is not too long. The greens are small and will yield many 3 putts if you are in the wrong spot. There are a lot of risk reward holes to make birdies or double bogeys. With small fast greens and the hilly terain, anything around par is a great score the average player with a 14 handicap should expect to play around 83 golf. Well maintaned golf course, good food and service in the dinning room. The pro shop staff is very professional and accomidating. The best thing is the cheap cart(highly reccomend to take one) and green fees less then $40 a player. This is my second favorite thing to do on a Penn State football weekend, of course the Nittany Lions are the first thing.
