This club has one eighteen hole course and one nine hole course. These well-maintained courses were built on 420 acres of rolling terrain and prime real estate, so expect uneven lies. Two-hundred of the 420 acres are heavily wooded. The holes are well spaced, so you don't have to worry about getting struck by another golfer's errant tee shot. The greens are exceptionally large, and Mallard Creek (plus one man-made lake) flows throughout these courses and comes into play on many holes. The most difficult hole is a 464-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot up a dogleg right fairway, then an approach shot over water and past trees to an average-sized green. The signature hole is a 545-yard, par 5, featuring a giant oak tree in the middle of the fairway about 200 yards off the tee, and later requiring an approach shot to a green framed by large trees.

Very nice course ... bad management, Aug 08, 2008 |

| This course was in excellent shape. The greens were beautiful and it was challenging enough. HOWEVER, we went on a Friday evening, BEFORE the discount time, and with a tee time, we were still put behind a seven-some (yes, seven, with three carts), and two foursomes. The course has 36 holes - so we were assured there would be no problem getting out. They closed 18 of the holes for "watering." Also, as a bad storm was rolling in on our last hole -- right before our approach shot -- the groundskeeper runs onto the green to change the hole location. He also took five minutes. Needless to say, kind of ridiculous. So - overall - very nice conditions - beautiful greens - course is not run so well IMHO. |
