This course is geared to the medium-range amateur with its large, flat greens and open, flat fairways. In general, the greens are firm and considerably fast. The signature hole is #8, a 190-yard, par 3, which requires a carry of 180 yards over a large waste area in front of the green. The safer option is to play to the right of the green. Four water hazards, in the form of ponds and lakes, come into play on four holes.

This course is in south columbus and they show a lot of favoritism torwards african american players. When I was there, there was a foursome of african american players slow playing in front of us a twosome and i even told the clubhouse and marshal and nothing was done. Where as on another occasion i was in a threesome and the marshal told us we needed to let a twosome of african american players play through although we were playing faster, just saying if your white you will not be treated equally out there.

I love Oxbow Creek the only downfall is that it is only 9 holes. The greens are usually in great condition and you just cant beat the price. I live in Columbus and this is by far my favorite course to play and the par 3 8th hole is a pretty tough hole. Would recommend that anyone play this course atleast once.

Andover Golf & Country Club
"One of the Best"
Andover is certainly one the best course in the region. It is very challenging as well as one of the most beautiful courses around. The greens at peak season are like glass, the roughs will chew you up and cost additional strokes and the narrow fairways boarded by homes will make you shiver. Your score is determined how well you can over come the fear of taking a full swing or whimp out just to keep it in play. Not being an extra long course makes you contemplate the great shots instead of the smart ones. When you make a mistake take the bogey and go on to the next hole.

Emerald Lakes Golf Center
"The nicest 9 hole around"
Emerald Lakes is a fun little course that provides the basic golf experiance to the younger golfers in the Elk Grove area. The course has many hazards, including hole 5 which is as good as an island hole as you could get at any 9 hole course. The Course tends to be real hard in the summer and extremely wet during the winter. Give the grass at least 3 or 4 days to soak up water after a hard rain or you'll be chipping out of the mud on most holes. Overall, the course provides just enough amusement to keep the low end golfers happy, while aslo providing a great practice facility including a driving range, chipping green, and putting green. The bottom line, this is the best 9 hole course in the Elk Grove Area.

"The Trails is fantastic."
Nice layout with beautiful trees and, save a few holes, away from it all. Challenging drive course, approaches are easier. Nice size greens.
