This scenic course was built in an old country setting. The clubhouse is a 200-year-old log home. The fairways are lined with very old trees and have degrees of undulation. The greens are about medium in size, and there are no sand bunkers. There are three ponds and a creek that come into play on four holes. The club is in the process of building another nine holes. The club runs a midweek special, a discount for two people including a cart.

Quarry Ridge is a family owned/operated course just outside of Columbus, IN. The course itself isn't overly difficult if you can keep the ball away from the trees, of which there are plenty. Tee boxes are on the rough side, and the fairways aren't exactly tournament quality, but for $18 a round, it's on par with most Munis in the area in price and quality.

Dayton Valley Country Club
"A Real Golf Course, Open All Year."
DVGC is a real test of golf. All the holes are fair and require you to hit shots. 7-9 and 16-18 are some of the toughest closing holes around this area. There are plenty of birdie opportunities if you are on your game, there are also plenty of water hazards if you are off your game. It has been known to blow a little in the afternoon, so play as early in the day as possible. Dayton Valley is a fantastic course with a terrific staff.

Flowing Lake Golf Course
"Hitting the Ball at Flowing Lake Golf Course"
If you are up for the drive (depending on traffic, 1-1.5 hrs NE of Seattle), Flowing Lake is a very nice "short" course; there are no par 5s, and you can finish 18 holes in 3 hours. Tucked away in the scenic foothills of the Cascades, on a clear day, some prominent snowy peaks (Pilchuck, White Horse) are visible from several of the fairways. The course is hilly, there is plenty of water (to avoid) and you'll get some exercise "hiking" the 3rd and 12th holes. You'll know you've lived a clean life if your ball doesn't roll all the way back down the hill if you fail to drive the green on those two holes. The 11th is the wildest par three you'll ever play! I've actually t'd off on 11 using a putter - and landed the green!! No sense in me describing it; you have to experience it first hand. FL is low traffic with friendly staff and VERY reasonable greens fees; <$20 for 18 holes. Over the years, I have brought friends & business clients visiting Seattle (from all over the world) out there; never a dissapointment, always enjoyable.
