This course is set up for careful shot placements. Be aware that you may need to use every club in your bag. All of the fairways are tree lined, and water hazards come into play on five holes. The terrain varies between hilly and flat. The signature hole is #15, a 174-yard, par 3, which requires an all carry over a marsh area to an 11,000-square foot green. The par for the ladies' tee is actually 73.

Excellent and a bargain, Apr 01, 2004

Great course for the money. A hidden gem and considering how expensive golf is in Northern Michigan, this is a steal. The back 9 is wonderful as it was just added a few years ago. Check it out.

Knob Hill Golf Course
"One of the better ones around"
Nicely maintained, well conditioned course. A little short from the whites, and perhaps a little long from the championship tees for the average golfer. Water comes into play on many holes, as does out of bounds. Greens are medium sized and fairly flat, but several have devilish breaks. Holes seven and eight can make or break your round, and when playing into the wind, the eighteenth is as tough a finishing hole as there is in the area. There has been talk about going private for several years, but it appears as if it will happen sometime in 2004, so if you have the opportunity to play, do it soon!!

"Tough Day"
I played this course with my brother,(scratch) on a Saturday in September 2003. We found it easily, we paid and went thru the rather surly starter and we were off, there wasn't much of a wait on the first tee. The first couple of holes were standard, it was a rather breezy day so I was really challenged to keep my ball on our the fairway.(this would be my problem for most of the round). Nice elavation changes, and the course looked great compared to it's neighbor,(whitetail). Dogs and beer at the turn. The back nine was just as nice as the front. Immaculate greens with challenging pin positions. Afterwards it was a couple of more beers and burgers at the lounge. Good food. If we had more time we would have gone to their fine dining restaurant, got a glance at their menu, looked really nice. great sunset too! Overall a great day.

"Beautiful & Relaxing"
This golf course is one of the most beautiful and relaxing courses I have ever played on. The natural beauty of the area is emphasized. It is a challenging course that is very well manicured for such a small area of the province. I'd recommend AVCC to anyone.
