This hilly course is mostly tree lined and has many dogleg fairways. The elevated greens are medium-sized, undulating and some of them are located on tops of hills. Either four ponds or a connecting creek come into play on seven holes. This course was built on the second largest gold mine on the East Coast, The Phoenix Gold Mine. Since few ladies play golf here, ladies tee off from the same set of tees as the men.

More of a Mountain course, Sep 21, 2010 |

| This course is good, if you are expecting a lot of hills, and hidden greens. The greens are in good shape, and are mostly elevated. Right now the area is starting a drought, but the grass is good, and the holes are fair. For the money, it is a good course, but don't even think of walking it! The club house is just a shack, with cats running in and out, we went somewhere else for a hotdog, and only bought a bottled drink there. |

GREAT FOR BEGINNERS, Jan 18, 2010 |

| This course is a great place to take a kid. The fairways are fairly wide and open. There are no sand traps to speak of. The greens are mostly elevated, but putt very well if you can get there. Overall, great for the beginner and kids who are looking to learn and have fun with their mentors. Dads, this is the place to take the kid who is learning and not be worried about the five handicapper breathing down your back. Most golfers Ive seen out here are probably 16 or higher handicapp. If your a duffer, this is where you should be! |

Not bad for the price, Apr 01, 2004 |

| This course is not bad for $20 to ride 18 holes. The greens were unreadable, but it's still early in tha season. The cart paths are like every other road in Mecklenburg county, rough. All in all, for the golfer looking to practice, it's pretty good chioce |

| Green Oaks is a course for the starting out player as well as the pro of the game.#7 hole is my favorite got a hole in one there an it wasn't that hard.I growed up at this golf course from eating them wonderful HOTDOGS to driveing the bad ass golf carts. This is an all around the best course I like to play an it will be your too.from the bad bounces you get that turn into good ones. |

Glorified Cow Pasture, Feb 18, 2004 |

| This is where I learned to play 18 holes. That being said, here's pros and cons: PROs: carts in decent shape, decent greens, challenging hilly course w/water obstacles, pro shop has wood stove and good hot dogs! Affordable alternative to other local courses CONS: no sand to be found on the property (could be a pro...), no driving or chipping area, cart paths mimick Cabarrus county backroads(disrepair),pro shop reminds me of a musty old general store but less merchandise, lots of backyards in which to hit your drives... |
