This private club annually hosts the Senior PGA Toshiba Championship. The tree-lined fairways are narrow, and the large greens are undulating, fast, and full of subtle breaks. Most greens are not elevated. Water hazards (ponds) come into play on seven holes. The signature hole is #18, a 200-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over water to its green. Another interesting hole is #17, a 405-yard, par 4, which caused Nancy Lopez, in a LPGA tournament that was hosted by the club, to say she would never play the course again in a LPGA tournament. She claimed the hole was unfair and too difficult to play because the approach shot is downhill and the green slopes away from the player, making it very difficult to stop the ball on the green. Mesa Verde is a non-metal spike course. The course does offer golf rounds to perspective members. David Rainville was the first to redesign the course, and Ron Fream followed with a second redesign in 1991.

Best in Orange County, Mar 05, 2004

Mesa Verde's layout is the best in Orange County. Although it was built in 1959, the upgrades over the years make this a course for pros and amatures of all skill levels. Mesa Verde has hosted 5 PGA tournaments, 6 LPGA tournaments, and one Seniors. Course records were set by Namcy Lopez and Chi Chi Rodriguez. "Best Par 3 Course Ever"
It really makes you work on your short game. If you need help with your wedges this is the place to be. There are some really long par 3 holes up to 200 yards. It is deep in the woods and has some narrow fairways. I give it 5 stars for being challenging and fun.

golf course has had new greens put down on 10 of 18 greens.The course Is fun to play it is not to hard. You can have some good food at the turn. Pro shop is VERY GOOD all the best things in golf . it is $30.00 to play on the weekend.
