This well-maintained course has everything from wide open to very narrow, tree-lined fairways, and very fast greens. Water hazards (ponds) come into play on a number of holes. Joe Lee designed the new back nine in 1965. This club also offers tennis and swimming to its members and guests.

The course was played in April of 2004,and it is in great shape. The front nine is wide open, but the back nine places a premium on accuracy. The greens are supurb, with very fast conditions and challanging but fair undulations. This little jewel should get a look if you are visiting the NO area and looking for an enjoyable round.

Wilshire Golf Club
"Good Challenge; Poor Conditions."
Wilshire is a challenge in disguise. With many decisions shots like weather to carry the creek on the first hole or whether or not to cut the corner off of the 17th. But the adverse course condidions can discourage most golfers that are looking for a challenge. Shabby fairways and greens give it a rough appearance but it is a good deal for the price.

"Best Beginner Course"
This is the best beginner golf course around!Highlights for the beginner is no sand or water, and lights allow play until 2200. Price is $10 or less for 18 holes; you would be hard pressed to find a course to practice your short irons as well as pitching and chipping. You could play everyday for a couple weeks with this low price! The shop has very good prices with no tax.

Shadow Valley Golf Course
"Great no frills course with a fantastic front 9"
My wife and I golf Shadow Valley frequently, and find the course VERY challenging. We typically get scores similiar to what we get at Banbury (the "Premier" course in Eagle). the Front 9 is spectacular, the back 9 is good, but more flat and bendy than hills trees and water. It is not a spanky course, and lacks the ammeneties of the courses we are used to (the better courses in Seattle, where we are from), but you can almost always get a tee time, and the course itself is a blast to play. They were adding junior tees last year (2003), but I haven't been out yet to see if they are done. I took lessons from Bob Campbell last year and it really improved my game. Of course, almost anything would have improved MY game! The prices are typical, 20-30 depending on when you come. Small club house. Carts are extra, but its a rather long walk because of the hills. Its definitly our favorite course in Southern Idaho.
