This course was built on extremely hilly terrain, so expect many uneven lies. Hole #4, a 468-yard, par 4, features the only dogleg fairway. Water hazards (a pond) comes into play on two holes. The greens are mostly level, but some are elevated.

Best bang for the buck - guaranteed!, Jul 12, 2009

This is one of my favorite courses. It gets even better as I become a better golfer. This course is an excellent challenge. They water the fairways so they are never burned out. Scenery is breathtaking on some holes. There is a beautiful view of the mountains one way and Lake Copake the other. Rarely a wait and priced amazingly low for a course of this quality. Fast and undulating greens. The course can be long for some, with a 200+ yd par 3 up hill. Only wish I lived closer.

Twin Rivers Golf Club
"Great Track, Hard yet rewarding"
Played this course over the last week, this track is one not to miss. Clasic Joe Lee Design, lots of bunkers and water. This is a thinking man's course. Don't be disappointed is this track play's longer then whats on the card. It does. Play this one and you'll be back again and again.

For a fast round of 9-holes this course is very enjoyable, and actually quite challenging. The greens are all in good condition throught the year, and so are the fairways. Par 3's range from 90-yards to 205-yards, and the par 4s are long enough where you can hit driver and/or 3-wood. Wonderful practice putting green surrounding water and driving range is also nice. For the price and convenience of walking on without a long wait, it's a winner in my book.

This is one of the great old valley courses. Ancient oaks line the fairways kept to Championship standards. This is a must-play for all golfers in the immediate area. The price is ideal, the employees are pleasant, and the course is challenging and fair.

Lufkin Country Club
"Very fun, and inexpensive."
This course is a very well kept secret in the old part of Lufkin, Texas. Not your upper tier type course but cheap for the quality. Fairways are very plush with just a very few spots that need work. And the greens, oh wow, possibly the best greens in the Lufkin-Nacogdoches area (including Crown Colony). It has the very challenging holes that you need to play cautious golf, and then it has the type of holes that you can attack with everything you have. When you finish this course, you will definately want to come back for more.
