This short course has many hazards, but no sand bunkers. The course has well-established trees that line its wide-open fairways. There are five dogleg fairways and two man-made lakes that come into play. There are some spectacular views from off the tee boxes. The views display nature at its finest. This course closes down for the month of January.

| For whatever reason, I haven't been able to score well on this farily tame looking golf course. The biggest challenge is, especially the first time you play it, the fact that you can't see the green on several of the tee shots. There are a couple of real easy holes and a couple of pretty tough holes. The fariways are generally in decent shape, a few bumpy spots and a few bare spots, but I love the zoysia. The greens are not very big, but generally fairly soft and slow, which makes putting nice. However, most of them are anything but flat. A few are multi-tiered and if the greens keeper is in a bad mood, he can make 2 putting a great victory. Fairways are not especially wide, but generally you have plenty of room to find and play errant shots. The course only has 3 or 4 places where you can lose a ball. Two of which are little ponds that have greens tucked up next to them that seem to gobble up golf balls. The other two are small little creeks that are not really factors. The only par 5 is only about 470-480 yards, but it is one of the holes with a pond. This really makes shooting for the green in 2 especially tough, plus the green is elevated. The shortest par 4 on the course is a sharp dogleg that has the pond in front of the green. This makes tee shot selection, as well as the approach shot, very intriguing. The finishing hole is a par 3 of about 170 yards to a very shallow and severly tiered green, esentially making two seperate targets. Here pin placement can tough. This course could really but tough with the addition of some bunkers. It has just enough distance and is laid out in a way that it will make you be creative in shot-making and use most of the clubs in your bag. All in all, a challenging little course that is superbly located, very affordable and well kept up. |
