This facility opened nine new holes during the summer of 1998. The new holes are more open and run up and along a hill, which offers a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. This course is best known for its wide variety of wildlife, including salmon spawning grounds and nesting bald eagles. Prior to its expansion, the PGA once rated this facility as having the hardest nine hole course in the State of Washington. The scorecard does not show handicaps for individual holes.

Great round for the price., Jul 02, 2010

Went to Dakota Creek as a recommendation of some of my friends. I played all 18, and as a beginner with a wicked slice found the course to be very challenging. If you have a problem walking up and down hills constantly, then get a cart. Overall, I give this course a 7 out of 10. The greens were well kept, the fairways were a little long, and the lip between the fringe and green on most holes was large. I enjoyed my round though, and would play again.

Mill Creek Golf Club
"Living and Playing Mill Creek"
I chose to live in the Mill Creek Community after playing Mill Creek Golf Course. The course is long enough to challenge the low handicapper while allowing the average golfer to handily compete. While each hole presents its unique challenge, holes 7, 9, and 15 can be particularly formidable. Hole 7 is a reasonably short par 4, just 326 yards from the white tees and 400 yards from the championship tees, but take the ball out of the fairway -- kiss it good bye. Hole 9 (359 yards from the white tees and 439 from the championship tees) commands distance and accuracy from the tee if one expects to reach the green in two. A bed of rocks to the left of the fairway, woods to the right, and a ravine paralleling its length on the left with a wide ditch crossing the fairway about 50 yards from the green, simply command excellent club selection. Hole 15 and be a pussy cat or a bear. Wind in your face requires a long wood. Wind with you, and a five iron may place your ball in a 50 yard water and grass hazzard which crosses the fairway about 100 yards from the green. The entire course undulates and winds through just over 7000 yards from the championship tees. The fairways allow the ball to be played down while the bent greens firmness can cause many putter miscalulations. All in all, this is a great course -- especially at fees ranging from $39 - $59, cart included.

Philmont Country Club - North Course
"Great old classic"
Classic course. Elevation changes make the course play longer than the yardage. Fast smooth greens can be treacherous. A nice variety of shots is required.

"Great for all ages"
Aside from this course being played regularly by Chandler Harper (PGA hall of famer), City Park has a great youth program practically year round. Also, the course is always in great shape and, although, it is a very short 9-hole course, it is very challenging.
