Located just a short drive northwest of Houston, BlackHorse Golf Club is comprised of two new 18-hole courses: The North Course and The South Course.Designed by Jacobsen/Hardy Golf Design, the courses are constructed among several wetlands, a sand quarry, and the club boasts a driving range, clubhouse, restaurant, golf academy, instruction center and 2,000-square-foot pro shop. Both courses have TifSport Bermuda grown on the fairways.The North course opened for play July 2000, and the South course followed in November.Clubs may be rented form the pro shop for $35. Tee times can soon be reserved through the club�s website: www.blackhorsegolfclub.com.

"Private Passion"
This is a terrific course that offers golfers of all abilities a challenge. Beautiful views, great greens and terrific golf. Many of the par 4's will challenge a good ball striker to go for the green...be careful, it's not as passive as it looks. The 5's are all long and offer plenty of scoring opportunities. Wide fairways but small greens make the approach shots important. The greens are smallish and require respectable shot making...practice your short game before playing..Be sharp! The new clubhouse, open summer 2004, will be a terrific improvement. It's going to be massive and it will certanly be beautiful.

Only reason that it isn't 5 stars is cuz it's only 9 holes. Some of the best greens in the inland northwest. You will not always get a flat lie, but you will get a good lie because of excellent maintenance. # 4 is toughest short par3 around cuz of left to right sloping green. Get your birdies early or late cuz holes 3-6 are plenty for most.

Goose Pond Colony Golf Course
"Water Hazards?"
Make the turn at even or better if you expect to go low. If water hazards aren't for you be ready on the back side. 6 of the 9 have water hazards that can come into play if your not on your game. I felt good with a 75.
