Scenic Old Course Well groomed, Jun 15, 2006

| The front nine starts with a par-able, elevated tee, but with a fairway bunker affecting most drives. 2nd and third are a bit harder, i.e. long par 3 and par 4. The 4th requires a well placed short drive then, hopefully, a short iron to a slighty elevated green. 5 is well bunkered in the fairway and around an elevated green. Six is a classic short par 3 with OB on the right and 3 traps. 7 is perhaps the most picturesque. It is a par 5 with an elevated tee. It is one of least difficult handicap holes. Eight and nine are somewhat nasty-both long. Eight's fairway is tight and nine is uphill. The back nine is less wide open and generally more difficult. 15 is considered the signature hole by many. You must put a short drive to a tight corner. Then you face a large pond over one-half the fairway that forces a good second shot. People often lay up to pitch over the pond. Bogies and higher are not uncommon on this hole. The 16th is the high handicap hole-a tough par 4. So 14, a par five with water, 15 and 16 are nicknamed the "Amen corner". Game Over for some unlucky ones. |

| this course was in incrdible shape. It had challenging holes and also had escape routes for the average golfer. The front nine is open and you better socre there. Becasue the back nine is tight and you have to hit good shots to come out with a good number. First timew playing the course, I am a 9 handicap and I played well and shot an 82. I liked this course very much! |
