| While the course at Wakonda is certainly great, Chuck Taylor is a longtime member of Wakonda Club. His review is biased and therefore not valid. Reviews should be from guests only. |

Wakonda Club Renovation is Fantastic, Apr 09, 2004

| If you haven't played Wakonda Club since a major renovation completed by Roger Rulewich, you need to put it on your "must play" list. This old gem, site of the 1963 US Amateur, has been lengthened with all new teeing areas, new sand bunkers on every hole, and several other major renovations that have really improved the course. The par 5s have been transformed from "ho hum" holes into classic tests of shotmaking that are some of the best par 5s you will find anywhere. Several new greens have been installed, and they have never been faster. The course plays fast and difficult, recently hosting the Iowa Amateur and future home of the Trans Mississippi and another Iowa Am. This course now truly is the finest test of golf in Iowa. |
