This upscale eighteen hole course is situated on rolling terrain, with a front nine that is primarily carved through wetlands and protected nature preserves. The greens are average-sized, fast and firm year-round. The fairways are deceivingly receptive, due to the integration of wetlands and trees. Landing areas are gracious. Ten holes are affected by water on this course. There are two signature holes, #8, a 191-yard, par 3, which calls for a full carry over water to a bulk-head green that is guarded by a half-dozen sand bunkers, and #18, a 533-yard, par 5, which is reachable in two strokes if the golfer decides to traverse the water on the second shot. This "risk-and-reward" hole has been nicknamed "Tin Cup" by the locals because of those who are persistently falling short on their carries over the water. "Florida Golf News" accorded the course top honors for 1998.

The scenery is nice and price is about average for a public course, but here's a few pet peaves: - The course was redesigned a few years back to try to squeeze a few more stokes onto par by making it a par 69 from the original 66. The results were in my estimation, terrible. They basically redesignated two long par 4's into short par fives, combined to par 3's into a par 4, and added a 50 yard new par 3. - The proshop is run extremely unprofessionally by retirees and kids under 16. I've also witnessed the "owner" hanging around and acting like a yahoo. Let's put it this way, not your typically golf links proprietor! - The greens are colored during the summer with some bluish dye that gets all over your clothes, clubs, and ball. I suspect it covers up the burned out yellow spots on the greens. - Finally, I've never seen greens like the ones at this place. They are kept long and are, by far, the slowest I've ever encountered. I've literally seen playing partners skull a wedge from 60 yards and it doesn't even roll off the green. Weird.

"Nice change of pace"
This course is a nice change of pace. I have played it every year for the last 5 years for a total of about 15 rounds. The water was way down for a few years and when it was the course was not very nice to look at. Greens are small and challenging. The course is fun to play and reasonably tough. Having a sand trap in the middle of a green is flat out stupid. That hole (# 15) is definately my least favorite hole. The par five # 14 along the road seems to always be in bad shape. Outside of holes #4 , #14 and #15 I like the course .

"Great Course"
Great course, provides a high level of skill. I recommend that everyone come play. The scenery is beautiful with lots of nice houses. The Director of Golf there is great and provides for all the golfer's needs. 5 stars for Greensboro Country Club
