| 06/29/2007 Chaparral is a nine hole course with two sets of tees for men, and two for women. You play your first loop from the front and the second from the back. This is a no frills course that recieves minimal maintenance. The tree-lined fairways are very narrow and generally straight. The bermuda grass is invaded with plenty of crab grass. There are both water and sand hazards with the later being in desperate need of maintenance. From what I could tell, the demigraphic is mostly seniors. The few that I talked to were nice enough, but a little stand offish. There were several singles on the course and they just let me play through - I would have expected in invitation to join up. The green fees are $11.00 weekdays and $13.00 weekends and the fee is for all day play. The greens were smaller than average in my experience and while not fast, they were in good shape and rolled true. I did not appear that the pin placements change very often. The course offers a respectable challenge due to the narrow fairways and smallish greens. For the price, it's a good value especially if you live nearby. |
