This course is highlighted by rolling, tree-lined fairways and large greens. Lakes come into play on six of the eighteen holes. The signature hole is #18, a 325-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot from off an elevated tee down a narrow, tree-lined fairway, then an approach shot over a lake to a well-bunkered green.

It is my understanding that this golf course will close temporarily in October 2004 for rennovations to the course and grounds Rennovations will take approx. 1 year.

This course has recently been purchused by the county. They have already brought it a long way up. modest green fees and nice greens. a jewl in the rough. one to watch.

I've placed hundreds of courses in this country and Ferncroft for a resort club is one of the better places to play! For a private resort the cost of greens fees are perhaps a bit expensive, but you have to willling to pay to play one of the better well run courses in the area! The Bent grass on the fairways and greens are always well maintained. The layout is challenging for a course of just over 6,600 yards from the tips. They've just rebuilt the 3rd Green and 4th Tee. From time to time depending on the season they may have some standing water issues. From what I've been told by the Director of Golf they are taking care of this in the near future with a new irrigation system.
