This relatively short and tight course was built on hilly terrain, so expect many uneven lies. The greens are fast and undulating. In addition, water hazards come into play on twelve holes. Hole #18, a 505-yard, par 5, is generally reachable in two shots for the average player, setting up many eagle attempts.

This course offers plenty of challenges for all levels of golfer. Uneven lies, protected and undulating greens make this course a good but fair challenge for your game.

Wynstone Golf Club
"Employee"
Wynstone is situated on a topographically diverse landscape, unbecoming of many Chicagoland golf venues. It has abundant wildlife which adds to the course's balance between a parkland and wetland. Wynstone also offers a unique challenge for any golfer. Not only is the golf course difficult at 7,000+ yards, but also presents a challenge to any comers at 6,500. Both birdies and bogies are easily found throughout the track. Finally, the course is maintained hard and fast. Fairways and greens are firm which requires and rewards shotmaking.

"Must Play"
This golf course has an excellent layout and is a must play in the Detroit area. The greens, fairways, and tees were all in good shape and I believe they had four or five sets of tees to choose from for all different skill levels. The bag drop, shop staff, professionals, bartenders, waitresses, rangers, and starters were all extremely curtious and helpful. I really felt like I was a member at this club. For $70 on a weekend I was a little afraid I wouldn't get my money worth. Now I make about an hour trip a few times a month to play the course.

Brushy Mountain Country Club
"Course in need of help"
I have played many courses in this area and this course was once at a very high level. Now it has greatly deminished. The fairways are ok at best, and the once prized greens are in lackluster condition. The work that has been done seems to be minimal in areas. This course still is very challenging, but has the potential to be alot greater than it is at this time.

Sweetbriar Golf & Pro Shop - Third/First Course
"sweetbriar value"
This is an excellent golf course for beginners and seasoned golfers. The original 18 holes play somewhat easier than the new Legacy 9. The legacy nine is very well kept and is challenging. The price is great for the value you will undoubtedly find!
