Fast and challenging, Jun 30, 2009

I play this course once or twice each year, and the last time we played the greens were slick as a whistle. I still find this a very fun course to play. Changes of elevation make for challenging club selection throughout, especially on the back nine. Mature trees throughout, with a creek that meanders around the course and eats many golf balls.... Have a blast. eat your pre or post golf meal across the interstate at the truck stop - a Rt 66 style diner. The food there is awesome.

This golf course is not long and is completely open on most holes. In order to get the ball on the green you need to hit it high or hit in front of the green so the ball will roll on. The greens are the fastest I have ever seen.

Dwight Country Club is a course that will test every club in your bag. This is not a long course but small greens on the original nine can really test your iron game. Dwight Country Club has produced some of the best golfers in the State and they all respect the difficulty of this course.

"Best Course in WNY"
Not an overly long course, it rewards accuracy off the tee and penalizes errant strokes. The greens are fast and true, and generally break less than one would imagine. The front nine is deceptive, punishing anyone who strays off the tree-lined fairways. The back nine can be attacked, but the sightlines off the tees can intimidate the first time player. Use long irons from the tee to keep the ball in play(only if they are are a strength in your game), and you will be surprised with the result. Putting is the primary key to scoring on this picturesque layout.

Indian Creek Golf Course - Red Feather/Blackbird Course
"Enjoy"
The course is well maintained and the greens are fast and contoured. The back tees play over 7,000 yards long. Green fees are a little pricey. Red Feather and Blackbird are far more difficult than Grey Hawk. Grey Hawk is shorter and more forgiving. Blackbird is very long and the topography is hilly. Red Feather is the flattest of the 3 nines, but it is very tight and water does come into play. Most greens have lots of roll to them and require well placed shots in order to score well. The course was enjoyable to play.
