Eagle Hills Golf Course

This tight course has water hazards coming into play on many holes. The greens are undulating and difficult to read. There are houses and trees lining most of the fairways. Hole #5, a 178-yard, par 3, requires a tee shot over water to a large green. The local television station, Channel 6, regularly broadcasts a local contest on this hole. In 1975, an additional nine holes was designed by Bob E. and Robert L. Baldock, making this an eighteen hole course. Weekend rates are in effect from Friday through Sunday.

Great layout, but a haven for Seniors, May 18, 2009 |

| Eagle Hills is a short course, but designed with risk reward on almost every par four or par five. Risk the OB left for a better approach, or play safely to the right and have to play in over the sand? Fun and fair, though fairly short; if you can drive 270 you will be playing sand wedge or less into the par fours, and reaching the fives in two. The staff is probably the best in the valley; genuinely friendlyand part of the community. HOWEVER, this is the home course to half the seniors in the valley. When you get behind a foursome of retirees with their wives... OMG. Don't plan on getting off the course anytime soon. Since the seniors are their bread and butter, Eagle Hills staff is NEVER going to try to speed them up. One day it was so bad that they sent the beer cart around for free drinks for everyone. I had a double rum and coke... yummy, but not worth five hours to play a short easy course. |

Eagle hills, narrow but nice, Feb 28, 2004 |

| Like Shadow valley the front 9 is more interesting than the back 9, I guess that is to entice those 9 hole golfers. The driving range is small and over water. I particularly like the dog leg second hole, the dog leg is at the beginning and there is a huge valley in the middle of the hole, so placement and the ability to shape the shot make a huge difference there. The TV hole (see the other review) is one of those over the water to the smallish green hole. I use a longer club than normal on that one. It plays longer than the yard markers. Maybe thats just the water talking to me. Small clubhouse. Its a good change from other golf courses, but I find I get bored of it towards the middle of the year. |
