This resort has three courses. The Plantation Course and Reynolds National Course are listed separately because they have different pro shops and phone numbers. The Great Waters Course has the reputation of being "The Pebble Beach of the East." The course was rated 28th by "GOLF Magazine" in their 1998 list of the "Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the U.S." "Golf Digest" rated it as the 5th "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and the 7th best for 1997-98. "GOLFWEEK" selected it 97th among "America's 100 Best Modern Courses" for 1998. The entire front nine, with the exception of the area in front, to the right, and behind the green on hole #9, is played in the forest. On the back nine, after you complete hole #10, Lake Oconee is both visible and in the field of play through hole #18. The 6,022-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 70.9 and slope of 117. You have to stay at the resort to play the course.
