This military course has water hazards coming into play on several holes, plus numerous sand bunkers protecting the greens and fairways. The small greens are fast, and the narrow fairways are tree lined. 'Golf Digest' rated this as the #1 'Best in State' course for 1995-96 and 1997-98. This course annually hosts the 'Alaska International Pro-Am,' 'State Amateur,' and 'Public Links' golf tournaments.

Great time, Jun 07, 2004

As a life long Alaskan, I recommned this course to anyone who wants to enjoy a beutiful setting and is not afraid of water. The creek on the back side comes into play on4 of the last five holes, making this one of the best and pictureque finishes. You can see a variety of wildlife on this course, with eaglesnest along the 18th hole and often a fox running in the rough. Moose are often an added pleasure of this course. The lay out includes 5 par 5's and the same amount of par 3's. Enjoy an afternoon or and evening at Eagleglen.

This course has the best greens i've ever seen. The scenery surrounding the course just adds to it's richness.

White Hawk Country Club
"Better than others around"
I have golfed at White Hawk for the past three summers and have found it to be a challenging three courses. With black being the hardest it is to the difficult level of a 5-10 handicap player. On average I should in the high 70's and find some days more challenging then others depending on pin placement. But if you are a golf with great accuracy then this course will be almost no match for you. For if you are able to stay in the farways even par is something insight. The course itself is taken care of very nicely and almost all of the employees are friendly. Overall it is my favorite course in the area.

For the money one of the best 9 hole courses in western kansas, green speeds and roll out are up there with the big boys if not better. Fairways and teeing surfaces are always in better than average condition even in the hot months. Keep it in the fairway!

"The Best Little Course in West Texas!"
This 9 hole course is the hardest little course I have ever played! If you think the Links is hard wait until you play this bad boy! The hardest hole would probably be #7. This par 5 may look easy when you step up on these elevated tee boxes but just wait until you tee off. Thats when the adventure begins. The second hardest would the #5. This par 4 dogleg right is probably the hardest par 4 on the course. Of course there are a few easy holes thrown in just so you don't lose your confidence. So if you are ever traveling through Throckmorton; be sure and stop to play "The Best Little Course in West Texas!"
