Good value for the cash, Jun 10, 2005

This course has very good greens that roll true. The layout at times is funky. #10 and #16 are unfair. For that matter 18 is not laid out very well either. Nonetheless, the other holes have their risk/reward properties which more than make up for the few holes that aren't quite right. There is also no homes on the course -- a nice bonus. Lots of water to catch errant shots. The sand traps need to be raked out. Lots of hard pack in them. Still a thumbs up mainly because of the risk reward holes and value.

My experience at "THE ISLAND" has been wonderful. The course plays fair. By that I mean the greens are in good shape and they recover well from all the rounds that are played there. The fairways drain well after any rain. You can play all the irons in your bag. It has a couple of tricky holes. The staff is nice and inviting. I will be back for more.

Hyde Park Golf Club
"Wide Open Drive"
Fairly well kept course, the fairways are wide open for the most psrt, so if you lose your new Titlest, its your fault...There are a few water hazards in challengable spots. Bunkers are all easily avoidable. This is actually a challenging course, but one that wont drive you nuts with every stroke. Its also a pretty good course for those who arent, Arnold Palmer. You have to know your game, but it allows for mistakes, without costing you 3 strokes. The trees are beautiful, and the wildlife around the course adds to the experience. Its nice to find a place like this tucked among the city, and tall radio towers, which are right in the middle of the course, between holes nine and ten, which is the primary problem spot for this course. Its priced right, and a good challenge for the money.

Indian Creek Golf Course - Red Feather/Blackbird Course
"Enjoy"
The course is well maintained and the greens are fast and contoured. The back tees play over 7,000 yards long. Green fees are a little pricey. Red Feather and Blackbird are far more difficult than Grey Hawk. Grey Hawk is shorter and more forgiving. Blackbird is very long and the topography is hilly. Red Feather is the flattest of the 3 nines, but it is very tight and water does come into play. Most greens have lots of roll to them and require well placed shots in order to score well. The course was enjoyable to play.

Exceptional course that rewards good drives. Don't need to be long but hitting the fairway is a must. Housing along most fairways buffered by large pecan trees. Friendly staff.

Wuskowhan Players Club
"Breath taking"
This course is one of the most beautiful I've ever played. In the cool hour of the morning, the deer were stirring on #9 fairway, and the birds were chirping in the woods nearby. Truly a memorable experience. The course has wide fairways on nearly every hole, but the intimidating marsh makes for difficult play. A great outing. I wish to go again soon in the future, and I would advise everyone to do the same.
