This club was built in 1982, and opened the following spring as nine hole course. The back nine construction began in the fall of 1989, and opened in the fall of 1991. Although shorter, the back nine is still harder for most golfers, thanks to its tight, tree-lined fairways, which were built on predominantly flat terrain. However, there are some hills that can cause uneven lies. The greens are medium-sized and guarded by sand bunkers. Only one pond comes into play on one hole. If you wish to warm-up prior to your round, a driving range, not associated with this facility, is located across the street.

"Exquisite Conditioning"
I was a member at Bent Creek for ten years until moving to South Carolina. Day in and day out, compared with top caliber courses, this is probably the best conditioned course in the Mid-Atlantic area. Tees, fairways, and greens are bent grass, as are the practice tees and even one of the two practice ranges. The course is more difficult than its slope and course rating indicate, with very difficult holes at the start, especially from the back tees. It is a great course for average players from the regular men's tees, and a fantastic test for better players from the back. An under-par score from the back tees is exceptional.

Turquoise Valley Golf Course & RV Park
"Hidden Gem"
One of the best golf values I have seen. #1 hole is the worst hole on the course, with a ridiculous left to right sloping green that is impossible to hold. Make bogey here and you have a chance for a good round. After that, the architect did a good job of squeezing 8 holes into the available terrain. The real ambience of this course starts with #11, a long carry over a wash to a par 3. #10 is a drivable par 4 that could be improved a bit by narrowing the fairway to make it a bit more risky to go for the green. The rest of the back 9 is very well done, except for # 18, which is a pretty lame par 4. And then there is THE RATTLER, a very good par 6. Long hitters can get there in 3, setting up an eagle putt. But the 3rd is mostly carry over water. Overall one of the best courses I have played, especially for the money.
