This short course is decorated with native flowers and vegetation, which are just beginning to mature and surround the landscape. The trees along the fairways are still young, but will begin to come into play as they continue to grow. Sand bunkers protect some of the undulating greens, which can be fast depending on the weather. Water hazards come into play on three holes. Hole #7, a 140-yard, par 3, requires a tee shot over a pond.

good course for beginners and skilled alike, Mar 15, 2005

The course has two nice short holes to start, with only a small pond nearby. This is a nice touch for beginners that are afraid of the water holes. There are some long holes, with gentle and more skilled dog legs, for the more experienced. The scenery is beautiful and it is on a quiet road with little traffic to bother you. An enjoyable stroll in the beautiful Erie weather!

Stevens Park Golf Course
"Classic Muny"
Stevens is only a few minutes from downtown. It's in a beautiful area and has some scenic views of Dallas. It's a classic muny and a good course to walk. There are many challenging holes and there are some very easy holes. Number 2 is a very short par 4 and is reachable from all of the tees. Number 12 is a short par 5 dog leg that is reachable in 2 but there are many well placed trees and an elevated green with a mean slope and you'll be happy if you get your 5. There are a few holes where you can hit your drive as far as you can but most take some strategy off the tee. On 17 you can hit 220 yards straight away or 140 yards to the right side of the fairway and both will leave an open short iron shot to the green... if you avoid two beautiful oaks and a wide creek on that tee shot. The par 3's are gorgeous and the two on the back are included in the 3 hardest on the back nine handicap chart. Stevens Park is a favorite, great taquitos in the snack bar too.

"Nice, playable course"
This is a nice playable course. Not overpowering in length, it is a good fit for both long and short hitters. I played in February and the course was in excellent shape considering the time of year. Greens rolled nice and true. Staff was friendly.
