Nice private club, Feb 10, 2007

This is a nice, woodsy, hilly club, good condition with a lot of interesting holes. However, the holes get less and less interesting as you go along, finishing in 4 straight driver-wedge par-4's to excessively sloped greens. 1-14 are very enjoyable, though.

Pines Municipal Golf Course, The
"Tough for it's size"
I'm origianally from Toccoa and have played this golf course many many times. While only a 9 hole course, it is worth the money to play it. It is far less expensive than most golf corses and offers real challenges for even experienced golfers. The terrain is extremely hilly and almost every hole has an extreme change in elavation. The green's are extremely small and very very fast. During the summer the fairways and greens are fairly well manicured although winter play tends to be a little harder on some holes due to a harder fairways from less moisture. Fairways are extemely tight with hundreds of opportunities to lose balls in pine forests and a courseside lake on the last two holes. Overall, not an allstar course but for a quick, challenging, and inexpensive round well worth the time.

One of the most brutal couses I have played. Played it in 89 and again in 91 by request on Myrtle Beach gof packages. Only lame hole was #2 at that time.
