This scenic course is unique in that it is open twenty-four hours a day June 1 through July 20. Water hazards (two natural lakes) come into play on three holes. The greens are large, undulating, and well bunkered. All the narrow fairways are lined with birch, Alder, and fir trees, and bordered by a thick cut of moderately tall rough. This course celebrated its 50th anniversary on June 21, 1996, the longest day in Alaska, the land of the midnight sun. 'Golf Digest' rated this course as the 8th 'Best Public Course' in the state for 1996. The course was redesigned by Robert Muir Graves in 1989.

Great Fun!, Oct 27, 2004

My husband and I took up the game of golf this past summer. We took lessons, practiced on the driving range, and finally played four rounds of golf at Fairbanks Golf & Country Club. We had a great time, learned the game from a great Pro (Tom M.), and had an overall enjoyable experience. Everyone was friendly, and helpful. The course is well maintained, and easily followed.

Lovely course in central Alaska, well maintained green. 9-hole golf course, open til 2am. Only $20 for a game of 9, $30 for an 18 holer. We rented clubs & took their pro-lesson at $35/hr. Definitely worth the change. I hope to be back soon!!

Edgewood Country Club
"Traditional Donald Ross layout"
Edgewood is a graceful example of a Donald Ross design, with elevated, contoured and fast greens. The traditional, tree lined layout is picturesqe and plays longer than its listed length. Par 4s #2 and #18 are each 420 yard gems. Three of the Par 5s are reachable with two long shots. 5-8 on the front is where the golf course really tests you. The course is always in good condition, and despite its hills, is a good walking course with a solid caddy program.
