This Scottish links-style course doesn't have many trees, but the wind can be a major factor. There is a lake that comes into play on two holes and streams cross the fairways on a couple others. A challenging hole is #5, a 491-yard, par 5, with a lake bordering the front, right and back sides of the green. To risk reaching the green in two may be worth the reward because the drop area is behind the green. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 7th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996.

Great Course!, Oct 14, 2006
reviewer: Roger Kaiser from Webster Groves, MO
Played the course 3 times in the last week. It is amazingly well maintained. The greens are slick and fast. Also, the greens require a lot of attention due to the pin placement and the undulations. The course is not extremely difficult not it is easy. The sand traps need some work. the sand is extremely shallow. Overall this course deserves a 4 star rating.

Disappointment w/in, Jul 14, 2006
reviewer: Scott Joseph from IL
The new zoysia fairways were beginning to come in on my last visit, which should add to the usually prestine condition. However, a course I would normally rate at 4 stars, got a 2 star rating due to the bunkers. They were definitely the worst I have ever seen anywhere. You could not dig your feet in deeper than the sole of your shoe and they played like cracked dirt, no exaggerations. Staff could be freindlier, especially in the grill adjacent to the Pro Shop.

Great course for the price, very seldom crowded, Jul 12, 2004
reviewer: clvlndta3 from St. Louis, MO
Course is almost always in great condition, although right now they are in the process of switching the fairways over to zoysia so they are striped from the sod process. Greens are large with lots of undulations, and the course can play very long if the wind is in your face. Over all, a great course for everyone because it is challenging being long and undulating for the strong player, but wide open off the tee for the most part, which helps the weekend player. Also, they have 5 sets of tees, so the course yardage can be played based upon the skill level of the player. They also have a very nice bar/lounge area and a fully stocked pro shop.

Great Golf Course, Mar 04, 2004

One of the best young courses I have ever played in the US. I look forward to watching this course mature into one of the best Missouri has to offer.

Absolutely the best public golf course within 100 miles of St. Louis. Seems like your playing well (Haven't lost a ball, no penalty stokes) then you add em up and you're half a dozen worse than usual. Great views, no waits.
