This course demands shot accuracy because the fairways are very narrow, and the greens are small and fast. The terrain is flat, so it is extremely easy to walk. Water hazards (seven ponds and a creek) come into play on thirteen holes.

its a grate corse in the spring and fall in the summer its average. but all in all its better than most courses i have played in the local area. i like the greens the though they are always fast.

I think the course is nice, it could have better upkeep, especially during hotter summer... the grass always seems to be brown. maybe you could get some help from whoever turned maplewood around! Keep up the good work

I think that overall the course is nice. It could be so much better. Like if the fairways were bent grass and if you would take care of your creek edges and ponds. We would also like to send out all of our thanks to Darel Doss for making Hickory Hills a better place to be. Oh and by the way Wapahani, you just better watch out. We might have a suprise in confrence!

Indian Springs Golf Club
"Indian Springs - Hidden Jewel"
This course is in a rural setting, with many farms around. Getting to it is a challenge, but once there, some pleasurable hours will be had. The course was well maintained, with good fairways and well manicured greens. There is almost an "upper level" and "lower level" for play and the elevation changes pretty dramatically for middle Illinois. There are plenty of water hazards, woods and places to make shots, so the course may be tough for new players. For shotmakers, it is a great skill test. The signature hole offers a scenic tee, overlooking two water hazards, gazing out into a woods and just barely able to see the dogleg right hole. Anything too far out or left or right goes out of play, and bunkers guard the green on the approach. The clubhouse has the essentials for refreshments, the price is moderate and the staff are friendly. I would recommend this course to anyone for an enjoyable outing and challenge.

This golf course is sneaky long, but it is made difficult because the greens won't hold a shot longer than a nine iron, the greens are too small and there is very little space on either side of most of the greens to make a chip shot. This course is much poorer than several public layouts and the membership is both expensive and poorly managed.

"Nice course but difficult to get on........"
This is a great course, provided you can get on it. Always packed, best course in the area by far....I played here once and I am a resident, that shows you how hard it is to get a tee time here, used to be they only wanted non-residents because they pay more to play, (residents get a great discounted rate)...bad management idea there, of course residents complained and alot has changed....if you get the chance to play here by all means do it...you wont regret it...

"Simple Golf"
There is something to be said for playing golf in a peaceful location that is known to exist by only those local to the area. Best enjoyed in the early morning or evening when you may well have the course all to yourself. Just you, playing on a course surrounded by a train track and farmland. Refreshing.
