This is a somewhat open course, but most of the holes are tree lined and there is a standard cut of rough bordering the fairways. The course was built atop a mountain, so there are many scenic views of the countryside below. Water hazards come into play on four holes. The small greens are somewhat sloped and medium speed. The course has been renovated over the last few years with new tee boxes and greens as well as a state-of-the-art irrigation system.

this corse is beautiful like my wife. It has beautiful hills and curves. but it cost like 80 dollers. omg(osh) that means that i have to mow 8 whole yards just to go golphing for what 3 hours.

A beautiful course that provides views around every corner. The Fairways are spaced far enough apart to allow the beginning golfer comfort not to endanger other golfers by entering adjoining fairways. The greens and boxes are in excellent shape and tended to constantly. There is always a nice breeze due to the mountain top location. Few houses adjoin this course allowing the golfer to experience golf in a private setting, where tee times are never needed and fellow golfers are always friendly.

Sandpiper Golf & Country Club
"A nice short course"
I have played this golf course for the last 10 years, 2 to 5 times each year at various time, usually in the winter. Sandpiper is a short course with plenty of par 3's and short par 4's. The layout makes for a slow round on the front side on a busy day. It usually opens up on the back, which is the better 9 holes. Greens are in good condition year round. Course gets more play in the winter when the ajoining retirement community is fully occupied. Long hitters have no advantage as any long drive (250 or more) puts you too close to the greens. Use irons and 4 woods off most of the tees. Any drive 200 yards down the middle is great for this course. Some holes feel too close to the homes. Can be a real challenge when windy.

Valencia Country Club
"Valencia CC -- one of the finest in the U.S."
Valencia CC is a gorgeous layout and wonderful design that only gets better with maturity. This Robert Trent Jones course is a truly great test of golf. Demanding par fives and threes along with several of the finest par fours I've ever played make for a challenging and wonderful round. The 66,000 sq. ft. clubhouse with wonderful restaurant, grill room, snack bar, and great pro shop make this one of the most beautiful settings there is to play a round of golf. The practice facilities are absolutely great. This is one of the top 100 golf courses in the United States.

Rockport Country Club
"Best Kept Secret In Texas"
I am a very experienced player who really enjoyed the great conditions and excellent design of this golf course. I later found out that it is a Bill Coore design. He is considered one of the best minimalist designers working today. The members of this course are hiding a real gem in Southeast Texas.
