This nine hole course is situated on mostly flat terrain with a few rolling hills. There are several water hazards that come into play, including the Sand Hill River, which must be crossed four times during a round. Accuracy plays an important role in achieving a good score. The signature hole is the #4, a 321-yard, par 4, which requires a tee shot off a cliff and over the Sand Hill River.

Excellent course-5 stars, Mar 02, 2008
reviewer: Brad Lyson from St. Paul, MN USA
Excellent course. Equal to or even better than Fargo's Edgewood golf course which was rated 5. Scenic and well laid out. Bring extra balls because if the river doesn't get at least one, the woods on especially #4 will. On #4 you tee off from a tall cliff with the river below. The rivers swings around on the left side making you to often tee off into the woods on the right of #4. Four river crossings but the river often parallels resulting in water being a factor on 5 or 6 of the 9 holes. Lot of mature woods/ trees too. Mainly a river bottom course with elevation differences to varying degrees on 5 holes.

Sandhill River Golf course in Fertile is a great course, May 19, 2005
reviewer: Chans Waale from East Grand Forks,MN
This 9 hole course deserves at least three stars if not four. You can play there for 20 dollars all day. It is never busy and usually in great shape. It is very challenging because of the tight fairways and not easy to read greens. I would suggest to anyone who is in the area to play it.
